Hi everyone! My name is Alison Conrad and I am currently living in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time to put a spotlight on new perspectives and things that are not typically discussed when it comes to our relationship with the environment.

To do this, I want to tell stories. I want to give you my real, honest thoughts as I try to figure out what the heck I'm doing and where I fit when it comes to helping people and planet. Ultimately, I want to help build a more inclusive environment for connecting to nature. If we work on our relationships with each other, it will better our relationship with nature.

Becoming a birdwatcher was one of the sparks that led me to this point and this passion, which is why this is called Bird Words - a blog grounded in where much of this began. I hope reading my stories inspires you or makes you think differently in some way. In order to do differently, we have to think differently, and I think that is what our planet needs right now.
